Reading Notes: Ramayana part B

This image is titled "Golden Deer," and comes from Elroy Serraro on Flickr

These are my reading notes for part B of the Ramayana, the story I chose to focus on for this blog/ for story writing is The Chase.

Overview: After disguising himself as a deer, Maricha has another trick to play. He is able to imitate Rama's voice and uses that to his advantage.

Characters:
Sita
Rama
Lakshmana
Maricha

Plot: Rama chases the deer for a long time through the forest and is finally able to shoot him with an arrow. Maricha springs out of the deer's body and cries out to Sita using Rama's voice.
When Sita hears the alarm in "Rama's" voice she panics and cries out to Lakshmana to help.
Lakshmana assures her that Rama is okay, that he cannot be hurt by demons.
Sita grows angrier, upset because Lakshama will not help his brother.
Lakshmana grows upset that Sita would accuse him of being uncaring, which upsets Sita even more.
Lakshmana apologizes and agrees to search for Rama and Sita explains that he must be saved because she cannot live without Rama.
