Reading Notes: Ramayana part D

These are my reading notes for part D of the Ramayana. the story I chose to focus on for writing purposes is The Bridge, which is the first story in part D.

Overview: At this point in the story, Hanuman has used his superpowers to jump into Lanka, however, he left Rama and his army of animals behind. They all need to cross the water to get to Ravana's kingdom.

Characters:
- Rama

Extra Notes:
-Rama performed sacrifices to the God of the ocean in order to pass into Lanka but it doesn't work.
-Rama fires an arrow out and the earth immediately convulsed, he then threatens to dry up the sea
-The king of the ocean rose up angrily from the water and reminds Rama that he must remain unfordable, but advises him to seek the aid of Nala to help him build a bridge across the water.
- Nala is immediately called and he and his workmen construct a path of islands across the water (to this day that string of islands is called Rama's bridge).

Writing Ideas:
- I think it would be cool to write this story from the perspective of the Gods, watching Rama struggle and become angry. Specifically, it would be interesting to wrote this story in the perspective of the God of the ocean because it would be cool to hear his emotions.
